Setup checklist

Verify your Shopify Payments status and fulfillment setup so orders can flow end-to-end.

  1. Step 1: Shopify Payments is Active
    Confirm your payment provider is fully activated so customers can check out and Printful can be charged for fulfillment.

    What to confirm:

    • Green “Active” badge under Shopify PaymentsNot “Complete account setup” or “Action required”.
    • Bank account is connected and verified
    • Business details (legal name, address, tax ID) are complete
    • Payout schedule is set
    Open Settings → Payments
  2. Step 2: Alternative payment methods (optional)
    If you don't use Shopify Payments, confirm a third-party gateway like PayPal or Stripe is enabled instead.

    What to confirm:

    • At least one provider shows status “Active”
    • Test mode is OFF for live orders
    Review payment providers
  3. Step 3: Printful app installed
    The Printful Shopify app must be installed and authorized on your store so orders route to fulfillment automatically.

    What to confirm:

    • Printful app shows “Installed” in your Shopify Apps list
    • Products are pushed from Printful → Shopify and visible in your catalog

  4. Step 4: Printful billing method on file
    Printful charges fulfillment + shipping when each order comes in — they need a card on file to process orders.

    What to confirm:

    • A credit card or PayPal is saved as the default billing method
    • No outstanding balance or failed charges
